How to drive outcomes every day while working from home

A common challenge for people working from home is they can get themselves in a rut where they’re not making enough progress each day, or they’re overwhelmed by how much needs to be done.

The longer this is left unaddressed, the more of a habit it becomes causing them to be reactive and disorganised, which leads to increased levels of frustration and overwhelm.

In its most basic form productivity is about outcomes; it’s imperative there’s a laser focus on delivering outcomes every day. My preference is to manage this via my calendar, however, there are numerous other ways to manage tasks and reminders.

Below are 2 alternatives where I’ve created videos of a technology and then an analogue option.

The first example is to use voice activation as a simple way to be super productive and organised.

In this video I show how an Amazon Echo can review my calendar, add a reminder to my To Do List and I even use it to add an item to my Shopping List that I need to buy.

If you’re game then turn on the sound of the video to also get a snippet to my favourite music genre….

In the second video I step you through a simple daily To Do List to determine the work and personal non-negotiables and tasks I need to action.

It’s not complicated but that’s the beauty as to why it works.

I hope these videos give you some ideas if you’re struggling to keep on top of everything that needs to be done with work and home life.

Don’t forget that when done correctly, working from home is an opportunity to experience the benefits of truly flexible working with work/life integration…
