Why meetings need to be hacked

Remote working has put a spotlight on the significant problem we have with our meeting culture with so many people exhausted with days full of Zoom or Microsoft Teams meetings.

It’s not that remote working is causing the issue because if we go back to operating in a face to face environment like we were pre COVID-19, we’d still be overwhelmed by the number of ineffective meetings!!!

This meeting madness needs to stop…

Sure, teams need to collaborate and communicate but they need to do so efficiently because they need time to actually do their job!!!

Otherwise, when do they do the work they’re employed to do?

Effective leaders drive outcomes by embedding a culture of high performing teams.

Conversely, ineffective leaders waste time and resources. This often shows up in meetings that detract more than they add.

Consider the research on meetings:

👉 67% of meetings are considered to be failures
👉 50% of meeting time is wasted
👉 91% of people daydream during meetings
👉 73% of people do other work during meetings

Don’t tell me you haven’t done this yourself….

However, it doesn’t have to be this way as fewer meetings that are more effective is possible.

Even though leadership starts at the top, anyone can make a difference by holding and demanding better meetings.

If you don’t know how to do this, then get help to supercharge your meetings.

It’s all part of embedding a culture of accountability that unlocks potential and drives results.

I’d love to know what you don’t like about meetings.
